Methodology

Octivary is a decision-support tool. Its Choice Compass makes tradeoffs visible; it does not declare a universal winner.

How scores work

Each guide starts with a defined set of comparison criteria. You choose which criteria matter and how much weight to give them. Products are then scored against those selected criteria, so changing your priorities can change the order. A score is a relative fit for the choices entered, not a product-quality guarantee or endorsement.

Sources and review dates

We research publicly available primary sources where possible, including manufacturer product pages, manuals, support articles, pricing pages, app-store listings, and official service documentation. Product cards link to their source pages so you can check the underlying details yourself. Every guide shows its last-reviewed date; individual sources can change sooner, so availability, compatibility, features, and prices should be confirmed before purchase.

Missing, changing, and converted data

A blank or unavailable value is not treated as proof that a product lacks a feature. We mark it as unavailable or leave it out of a criterion until it can be supported. Prices are snapshots from the listed source, may be promotional or region-specific, and are shown in the source currency unless a guide clearly identifies a conversion. When we convert a price for comparison, it is an approximate reference using the rate and date stated in that guide, not a quote or purchase offer.

Editorial independence

Octivary currently receives no affiliate compensation or paid-placement compensation. Rankings are based on the documented criteria and the weights you choose, not on commercial relationships. See the Privacy Policy for information about advertising and third-party data practices.

Health-information boundary

The health guide compares publicly available product information and is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for a qualified clinician. Do not use a score to make a medical decision; consult an appropriate healthcare professional and the product’s current official instructions.
